A longtime time member here at TDtT and a great friend to Patty's and the Band David Hall died over the weekend. WRLT NASHVILLE PD DAVID HALL DIES (2/6/12) We are saddened to report that WRLT (Lightning 100) Nashville veteran Triple A Program Director and afternoon host David Hall has passed away at age 57. David was reportedly found dead by his wife but few details are available. The Kentucky native was considered "the voice of Nashville rock radio" and Lightning 100, spanning decades at the mike with his trademark "David Hall Rocks Y'all" every weekday afternoon. David brought new artists to Nashville radio every Sunday hosting Nashville Sunday Night. He championed local music, from Jason & the Scorchers in the 80s, The Evinrudes and Leigh Nash in the 1990s, to Gabe Dixon and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors in 2012. Prior to WRLT, Nashville radio listeners knew David from the '80s and '90s when he was at heritage rocker WKDF and Classic Rock WGFX (The Fox). In the coming days, look for WRLT to mourn the loss of David and to celebrate his life and contributions to the Nashville music scene. Visit lightning100.com.
